Test Shoot
Location: Stanton by Dale, Derbyshire
I did another test shoot using my tripod focusing again on the movement but choosing a natural background to fit with my ideas.
Again, the first few were quite bright due to the weather, I took the images at around 7pm and had to wait a while for it to get darker outside.
I had to change the shutter speed to a little faster but still below 2 seconds to make the images less overexposed.
Overall the shoot was a little overexposed due to the time I took the images.
I edited my best few using Adobe Lightroom:
The edits looked a lot better than the originals as I managed to make them look a little less overexposed by reducing exposure and brightness.
For each image I decreased the saturation to make the images black and white, raised the clarity to make the background look more detailed, decreased the contrast and whites to make the tones look softer and also decreased the shadows to make the background darker. Once I had done this I slightly increased highlights to make the pale face stand out a little more to put the attention on the facial expressions.
