Mounting and Sequencing My final images

Image
Mounting There are a few options I am thinking about due to having not measured the space at the exhibition yet: 1) Have a 1mx2m board with my 8 final images on and 3 large prints around 50x70cm with no frame, probably printed on canvas to make them ready to hand on the wall. 2) 6 of my final images in black frames or on canvas. The image will be in the centre of the frame with a white card border around it. 3) 4 of my prints in a black frame with a white border and a board 1mx2m. Example and diagram: I would like something similar to this but places in a black frame. Sequencing The images numbered: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8

Exhibition date - Info

Image
The date of the start of our exhibition is July 1st. This will run for a month, the month of July. We will be creating flyers to advertise our show during our end of year show. We will put the flyer online on our social media accounts including Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Examples of the kind of flyer we will create:  We do not want it to be bright and colourful as this wouldn't match our theme, it will be quite minimalist to look professional. We will lleave these flyers around our college and at our end of year show as well as some in Cafe Sobar to help promote the event. We will only put 1 image each on there and perhaps a zoomed in version as to not give away our work so people are intrigued. I really like this one and I will try and create something similar but with our images and names. I may also make the title of the show in colour just to attract the audience.

Edward Honaker http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-3240571/Photographer-suffering-depression-captures-mental-illness-haunting-series-self-portraits-raise-awareness-disorder.html Edward Honaker created his series of images to put in to perspective how he felt when he was suffering from depression. Showing how he felt inside. He is showing his invisible illness and this is what I am trying to do with my final images, show an invisible illness. I love his black and white high contrast work and I would like to try and create something similar but by recreating the look of film photography more. Michal Macku http://www.ufunk.net/en/photos/gellage-michal-macku/ " models seem tear their bodies and supports as a sign of deep anxiety" I really love these images as the actual cut outs of the images make it more realistic to as how 'hard' almost these people are tearing themselves apart, I assume 'me...

My final images - Frame added - FINAL

Image
These are my final images that I will be exhibiting: I chose this 8 because I liked the framing of these ones best out of them all and I felt I really captured the facial expressions the best in these 8. The atmosphere is exactly how I wanted it to be giving off a dark, negative mood which I think really helps towards the narrative of mental illness. I was also please with the grain and blur in these images giving the appearance that they were taken with film They were edited in Lightroom and I then added a frame using Photoshop, this is how I did it:  The first thing I did was open the frame  I then resized it to the size of my final image I then changed the blending mode to screen so that the picture underneath would come through

Exhibition Space - How I will lay them out

Image
This is the space we have been given for our month long exhibition in July: From viewing these images I drew up some diagrams of how I might set up my work on display. I drew up my plans giving myself half of the space as I am collaborating with someone else:  For this one I drew it up showing 8 prints in total. Due to the space they would probably have to be around 30cm by 40cm each.  As I wanted large prints, if I only used 6 images I could make them larger, around 50cm by 62.5cm  For this I included a stand which would be around 1m by 2m and I would have 4 images on that and 4 images on the board. Each image 30cm by 40cm if it fits. I have a board for end of year show with my 8 images on and a description already so I thought I could use this and show 3 large prints of my 3 favourites on the wall, possibly 60cm by 80cm depending on the space. This is the board I designed that I am using at my end of year show and possibly at the exhibit...
